Santa Rosa City Schools uses STOPit, an online and app-based system, to empower students, parents, teachers and others to anonymously report anything of concern to school officials - from cyber-bullying to threats of violence or self-harm.

Students and family members have the power to help put an end to harmful and inappropriate behavior they see online through social media and other means. Students can use STOPit to reach out for help if they or a peer are facing a personal crisis or experiencing bullying, abuse, or are in need of mental health support. STOPit can be used to report:

  • bullying

  • cyberbullying

  • discrimination

  • harassment

  • violence

  • threats

  • weapons

  • alcohol or drug related issues

  • mental health struggles like suicidal ideations

How does STOPit work?

  1. Students or family members make a tip via mobile app or website.

  2. Incident administrators monitor and review the submission.

  3. School administrators receive and act on tip submission.

Students and families can use STOPit to:

  • make anonymous reports through the STOPit mobile app or website

  • submit photo or video evidence (App/Web Only)

  • alert school administrators to issues early, before they escalate

STOPit is anonymous

No personal information is needed to use STOPit. The only way personally identifiable information will be accessible through STOPit is if a student/family member voluntarily includes it within the content of a request or report. STOPit is a signatory to the Student Privacy Pledge. Is STOPit really anonymous?

How does the mobile app work? STOPit is truly anonymous. The school has no ability to identify the person that submitted the report or message. The person may choose to voluntarily provide identifying information in the content of the report or message.

What student information needs to be provided to STOPit

None! STOPit does not require that any student information be provided. Information provided by STOPit app users is kept private and secure.

Can STOPit be used by children under the age of 13?

Yes, STOPit can be used by children under the age of 13. Santa Rosa City Schools encourages parents to contact the school's administration to learn more about how the school uses STOPit.

Who receives the reports that are submitted?

Reports and messages will be received by the contacts designated by the school and district administrators.

Can a parent, teacher, or community member use STOPit?

Yes, parents, teachers, and community members can make anonymous reports using STOPit.

How does the mobile app work?

Once the STOPit mobile app is downloaded, the report feature can be used to anonymously submit an incident report. Images, videos, and/or text can be sent to school contacts who can respond to the incident. The STOPit app allows for anonymous two-way communication between students and school administrator through STOPit messenger.
