Seal of Biliteracy
If you wish to be considered as a candidate for the State Seal of Biliteracy on your high school diploma and have met the following eligibility requirements below email, your school counselor to make sure you are on the list and we can verify if you have met all requirements.

Completed ALL high school graduation requirements.

Completed all English Language Arts requirements for graduation with an overall grade point average of 2.0 or above in those classes

Earned a score of Proficient level or above in grade eleven on the California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP) in ELA.
AND ONE of the following

Scored a “3” or higher on the AP (Advanced Placement) exam in a language other than English

Scored a “4” or higher on the IB (International Baccalaureate) exam in a language other than English.

Passed the SAT Subject Test for a foreign language with a score of 600 or higher.

Completed a four-year high school course of study in a foreign language and attained an overall grade point average of 3.0 or above in that course of study, and oral proficiency in the language comparable to that required to pass an AP or IB examination.
In addition, English Learner students must attain the required ELPAC score of Overall Well Developed (4).
